First impressions matter. When it's time to sell your tiny house, you'll definitely want to make a good first impression. Probably the most important thing you can do when selling your tiny house is taking good, quality photos. This is what will get the attention of prospective buyers.

Here are a few best practices for ensuring your photos get the attention of the people you're wanting to sell your tiny house to:

Capture it all

Oftentimes, the mistake of not capturing a home in its entirely is made. Leave nothing to the imagination. If you mention a feature in the description of your listing, be sure to capture that on photo. Take photos of every room, the loft, bathroom, sink, living area, kitchen...basically every feature and section of the home's interior and exterior. This gives your prospective a good understand of what the home looks like from a distance.

Lighting

Good lighting can make all of the difference between a poor photo and a high-quality one. Afternoon lighting tends to provide the best light. If the house has curtains or blinds, be sure they are not covering the light coming in through the window. If need be, open the door to allow more light in. "Good lighting makes for good photos" is the rule.

Go horizontal

Tiny houses are comprised of course, of very small spaces. When you can, be sure to hold your smart phone (if you're using a smart phone) sideways while taking a photo. This increases the aspect ratio (width) of the photo being taken and allows your potential buyer to see more of interior of the home at once. When the situation calls for it, like with a shower for example that is tall, be sure to hold the phone upright.

Tidy up

If your tiny house is currently being lived in, be sure to tidy up your home before taking photos. In many cases, prospective buyers enjoy seeing what a tiny house looks like while it's being lived in because they can envision what it would look like when they own and live in the tiny house. Be sure to clean and store items that take away from the look of your home. If your fixtures are dirty, be sure to clean and wipe them down. Simply speaking, ensure the house is clean and presentable for putting it on display for being sold.

Generally speaking, it's a good idea to ask the question "would I buy this tiny house if the pictures look like this?" If the answer if yes, then you're following best practices and the chances of selling your tiny house will be much better.
