When posting your listing for sale or rent, here are some best practices for increasing the chances of getting it sold or rented.

The description of your listing should start out with the most important details first and then gradually move towards things that are less important. The first paragraph should be an "overview" that explains the listing overall and perhaps the back story if applicable.

Be assertive, positive, update and take the can-do approach

In selling, it's important that your help your customer. You give them every opportunity to purchase your listing and help them tackle obstacles that could prevent them from purchasing it. Here are examples...

Get them on the phone
